Social Media in Business Survey

The results of this survey seem to mirror anecdotal information on the web and was the basis of our recent article on Social Media.

Overall, most B2Bs (business to business) are not yet using social media as a promotional or sales tool, with only 40% employing this medium as opposed to 75% of B2C (business to consumers).

Also stated in our social media article, is that the B2Bs that need to be using social media the most are technology or related companies. The supported this point with 100% of technical services and information media companies employing social media.


The main tools being used are Linkedin and newcomer Twitter.


Of those businesses not yet using social media, the results are quite spread on when they intend to “get on board”. 44% plan to do so in the next 12 months, 33% some time beyond 12 months and 22% currently have no plans to use social media to promote their business or increase sales.
